Finance Transformation Business Analyst (Systems)
Role Description MarkJames Search are working with a well known, global business, to recruit a Finance Transformation Business Analyst on a 12 month contract basis. This role is based in Scotland and can be worked from three sites: Perth, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
This role sits within the Systems stream of the Finance Transformation programme, a key initiative of which is implementation of Oracle FCCS (Financial Consolidation & Close), which forms part of the Finance Systems Strategy and Roadmap.
Main Role Purpose You will be responsible for facilitating the Consolidation & Close System design, developing and maintaining finance team, IT and other stakeholder engagement, and to support the business process change required to implement to all impacted systems. You will be responsible for detailed process mapping, to identify and target data issues requiring remediation, and drive the necessary path clearing and data cleansing that is required to deliver the design. You need to possess a broad knowledge of both finance processes and systems to be able to interpret findings, establish the route causes of issues and recommend remediation actions.
In your role as a Finance Transformation Business Analyst you will have responsibility for: - Delivering on programme assignments
- Ensuring customer (Business & Finance) satisfaction by providing timely, value-added services that meet or exceed expectation
- Manage stakeholder expectations spanning group business areas with conflicting priorities
- Ensuring management information is provided to and easily understood by programme lead, senior management & committees
- Ensuring timely escalation & control of risks, issues, dependencies and timelines
- Establishing best practices for development, leading Proof of Concept exercises for planning and reporting
- Understanding business models and help translate this into business requirements
- Working collaboratively with relevant teams Identifying opportunities for improvement
- Analysing data to provide recommendations of approach by identifying patterns and key issues
Skills and expertise required for the Finance Transformation Business Analyst role:
Finance / Accounting
- Experience of delivering transformation projects within finance functions, either as a consultant or as part of an in-house change-delivery team. This could be finance technology projects (e.g. EPM or ERP implementations) and finance process-improvements
- Accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) desired
- Good understanding of financial consolidation & close and management accounting concepts
- Understanding of the impact of the relationship between finance and other functions (IT, risk, tax, compliance etc.)
Projects / Business Analysis
- Understanding of the project lifecycle from requirements through to implementation
- Strong Business Analysis and demonstrated problem-solving skills, with an ability to work with stakeholders across all business functions to define requirements
- Ability to work with technology partners to translate these requirements into functional and technical design
- Appreciation of business and technical architecture
Other
- Experience of Oracle EPM implementation desirable
- Strong relationship skills with experience in a customer relationship role
- Well-developed interpersonal, organisational, negotiation, problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to professionally and effectively present information and respond to questions from all levels of management
- Excellent Excel skills combined with strong data analysis experience
- Be able to effectively adapt to changes in deliverables and timelines due to Programme prioritisation
- Be a team player as well as be able to proactively prioritise deliverables
