Job title: Data and Analytics - SQL Database Administrator

Location: Preston or Frimley. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: Circa £50K

What you'll be doing:

• Management of the D&A SQL infrastructure and underpinning databases, tables, views
• Configuration and maintenance of database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security
• Analysing issues in real time, working with developers to provide suggestions for solutions. Assisting with complex query tuning and schema refinement
• Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
• Performing scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities
• Informing future infrastructure & capacity change discussions with the Architecture team
• Setting & maintaining SQL database standards
• Installing & configuring new SQL server database environments as & when required
• Performing regular patching on database servers
• Performing backup and recovery on database servers

Your skills and experiences:

Essential

• Extensive experience as a SQL Database Administrator
• Experience with administering SSIS packages
• Experience with OLAP database administration
• Customer service experience, strong relationship building, influencing and negotiating skills
• Committed work ethic in a fast paced environment

Desirable

• Data Virtualisation knowledge & experience (TDV, STARBURST etc.)
• Experience in using Redgate tools including Redgate Monitor, SQL Prompt & Data Compare
• Experience in database development (SQL)
• ITIL Certified / proven experience
• BAE Systems knowledge & experience
