Job description
Central is currently recruiting for a Floating Support Team Manager , to work in the Wandsworth & Southwark areas. The services provide floating support across the boroughs to young people between the ages of 16 - 25.
The successful candidate will be required to work 37.5 hours per week, working Monday - Friday, 9AM - 5PM . Cover is required for approximately 2-3 months . The pay rate for this role is £19.08 per hour, with £2.87 holiday pay, totalling £21.95 per hour.
Please note ; you'll be managing two floating support services. You'll be based at the Head Office four days per week and can work from home (to complete admin tasks) one day per week (any day except Wednesday's).
In this position, you will be expected to;
- Manage a team of 8 staff across two services ensuring staff undertake all activities and monitor their performance
- Ensure both services meet their contractual requirements and continuously improve project performance
- Maintain staffing levels to deliver the services
- Liaise with accommodation providers supporting your team to seek a suitable housing option for clients
- Be available to deal with clients who need help or advice, either by phone or on a drop-in basis
- Monitor all support being provided to the Young People, and provide direction where appropriate
- Represent the organisation at partnership and strategic meetings to establish and build links with housing providers in order to maximise the alternatives available to young people and work closely with Consortium partners
- Work closely with Commissioners, Children's Services Teams, Other Statutory and Voluntary partners to develop the service further
- Keep clear and relevant records and statistics, and to ensure good communication with the project workers and project evaluators
- Chair team meetings, case management meetings and make a contribution to any policy reviews and consultations
To apply for this role, you must have;
- Experience of working with young people and people who are categorized as high risk or have complex needs such as mental health issues, drug and alcohol misuse, domestic violence and offending behaviour
- Experience of staff and service management and experience of managing a dispersed team working across several different sites
- Experience of helping Young People with setting up benefits and maintaining their accommodation
- Knowledge of supported accommodation and other services vital to successful support while Young People are homeless or are in need of pre-tenancy support
- Knowledge and understanding of the criminal Justice system and benefits system
- Experience of contributing to high level strategic discussions with an ability to deliver the outcomes required to promote the service
- A clear understanding and ability to implement risk management, information sharing and data security arrangements
- Ability to produce high quality reports. This should include an ability to use data capture systems including running queries and reports.
- Able to demonstrate a clear understanding of safeguarding requirements and professional boundaries when working with Young people

In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Current valid right to work in the UK
- Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)
- A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £50)
- Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process
