Consilium Recruit are proudly supporting Darwin Group with their exciting growth plans. They are seeking a Design Manager on a permanent and full-time basis. You will have strong experience leading and managing design teams in a construction environment.

The Role

Key Responsibilities
Overall responsible for Design Management and Architectural Deliverables 2-4 projects (depending on value) from RIBA Stages 1 to 6 across the UK.
Managing a team of 2-5 Architectural/Design Assistants/Technicians and ensuring deliverable deadlines are met in line with the project programme and procurement schedules.
Responsible for checking and approving information ensuring compliance with regulations/guidance, including DG standards, building regulations and HBN/HTM guidance.
Ensuring the team understand the contractual project position and contractual documents such as the employers’ requirements ad contractors’ proposals.
Compliance, Resource and Flag reporting to Head of Projects and Head of Design.
Coordination and management of external design consultant teams to ensure information is correct, coordinated and delivered in line with the project programme.
Planning/Planning condition application preparation where applicable.
Achieving key project sustainability targets such as BREEAM and Net Zero Carbon where applicable.
Ensuring BIM deliverables are in line with DG standards, execution plans, and employers’ requirements.
Overall design information management, ensuring efficient distribution to the project teams internally and externally.
Managing key project trackers, including planning, RFI’s, Technical submissions.
Client design engagement at each RIBA stage ensuring key engagement, whilst managing budget and programme expectations.
The Person
You will be an experienced Design Manager within the Construction sector who is passionate about delivering the best possible outcomes for customers and ensuring effective engagement for all stakeholders. A recognised qualification relevant to the field is highly desirable such as architectural, building services or structural/civil engineering.
The Design Manager will possess the ability to lead, engage and inspire a team and provide an excellent focal point as a subject matter expert in the design field. You will enjoy interacting with both external and internal stakeholders and have a proven background in supporting professional development within teams you have previously led and managed.
