JOB DESCRIPTION

Job TitleAssistant Head Greenkeeper

Responsible toHead Greenkeeper.

Working days/hours 40 hours per week (7am to 3pm) plus 1 in 4 weekends

(including weekends/bank holidays)

Salary Will reflect experience & qualifications.

Scope and general purposes of the job

Mond Valley Golf Club is a wonderful tree- lined parkland golf course with stunning views of the Black Mountains and is situated in the lower Swansea Valley. We are seeking an assistant Head Greenkeeper to join our team. The successful candidate will report to the Head Greenkeeper and will become an integral part of a well-established team.

• Working within a team of Greenkeepers under the direction of the Head Greenkeeper to ensure the golf course is maintained to a high standard to include involvement in the preparation of the golf course at weekends throughout the year.

Requirements

Experience/Skills

• Minimum 2 year’s greenkeeping experience with ideally NVQ level 2 in sports turf management.
• Ideally hold PA1,2 & 6 spraying certificates.
• Ideally hold chainsaw certificates.

• Must be able to work as part of a team & on their own.
• Have a flexible approach to work & be self-motivated.
• Good understanding of golf course machinery & competent in its use.
• Have a keen eye for detail and the ability to produce high standard of work.
