Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Torquay

Team Info: Currently a 2 vet team (core team of 2 vets has 19 and 10 years experience respectively), 4 nurses, 1 student nurse, 2 veterinary care assistants, 3 receptionists, 1 practice manager. Multiple certificates are held within the practice and one RCVS advanced practitioner in surgery.
Role : An exciting opportunity has arisen at our client's small animal practice in Torquay for an enthusiastic RVN to join their friendly and welcoming team.
Duties : They are a very close-knit, collaborative team with a great sense of humour. The practice is independently owned. They have no targets. What they do have is complete clinical freedom. They focus on doing quality work rather than quantity with an Average of only 12 consults per vet per day with a reasonable procedural load.
Hours :
Full-time (part-time considered).
Short shifts and a reasonable workload allow for a life outside of work. Shifts run 08h30 - 16-30 or 11h00-19h30. Three early shifts for every 2 late shifts. Practice is open 9 am - 7 pm so admin time is scheduled into the work rota.
No OOH.
One in 4 weekends with time off in lieu of hours worked during the weekend: every 4th Friday off and every 4th Monday a half day. 8 am - 7 pm are considered paid work hours on Saturday and Sunday although only expected to be in the practice 0830 - 1400 on Saturday, only coming in addition to this if there are emergency callouts.
Skills/Exp : They are looking for someone who aims to be a good all-round GP with a surgical bias but all interests would be considered for the right candidate. They prioritise personality over experience although some experience would come in handy.
Salary : The salary is open to negotiation - will be reflective of skills and experience
Benefits : RCVS membership, professional indemnity, and BVA membership are all paid. Other memberships are paid on request. Pension schemes, private health care, retail bonuses, and more. Healthy CPD budget, with previous employees completing certificates in their area of interest.
