Hospital school - Head Teacher

Hours: 8:00-4:30

Salary: Up to £53,380 (L6)

Start date: September 2024

Holiday Entitlement: 13 weeks

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a unique school - Summit is a small Dfe registered school for young people accessing mental health care at Cygnet Joyce Parker hospital. We aspire to provide a high quality education during admission, so that young people have the best chance of continuing their education after discharge. We work hard, but also benefit from the rewards of making such a huge difference.  

We are looking for an individual who has the right character traits to thrive in a leadership role with us, and be the very best they can be. It is not essential for candidates to have prior headship experience, but rather demonstrable leadership skills and a genuine desire to grow and develop. You will relish the opportunity to benefit from targeted CPD, leadership coaching, and being able to learn from those around you.

Your Day-to-Day…

• Oversee the day-to-day delivery of high quality education
• Appoint, manage, develop & lead a team of staff
• Develop & implement the Education Plan, & achieve or exceed agreed outcomes
• Work with the multidisciplinary team to provide seamless services for young people
• Ensure the school meets all of the independent school standards
• Maintain links with key stakeholders across the Cygnet organisation
• Effectively manage resources, maximise attendance & maintain behavioural standards.

• Knowledgeable of safeguarding, child protection
