Job description
As a valued senior member of the Partnerships Team, you will be responsible for the management & sponsorship delivery of some of the Welsh Rugby Union’s Principal Partners.
You will line manage a Sponsorship Account Manager and Sponsorship Account Executive who have their own accounts to manage.
You will be successful in this role by building strong working relationships with key partner contacts as well as internal stakeholders.
The Person
To be successful in this role the ideal candidate will have a passion for sports marketing and a desire to utilise that passion to bring to life a number of very high-profile brand sponsorships.
You will be highly organised with the ability to work unsupervised on several different projects simultaneously.
You will also be confident working with internal stakeholders as well as external brand and agency teams to ensure the most efficient yet creative solutions for our partners.
Your ability to lead and coach members of your team will help them flourish in their roles
The suitable candidate will have extensive experience of working within account management or sports marketing.
Candidates will ideally have experience of managing and coaching team members.
The Role
This role is a key member of the Partnership Team sat within the overall Commercial Team.
You will be responsible for managing the relationship and delivery of the sponsorship rights for several of our biggest sponsors.
You will work with a wide variety of internal stakeholders to be able to translate the sponsor’s activation plans into successful campaigns.
This will involve collaborative working with our sponsor’s internal teams as well as their supporting agencies.
You will see these campaigns and activations being brought to life and will be able to take forward learnings into future campaigns.
You will also inspire other team members through your actions and experience to work with their own partners, maximising the benefit to all involved.

WRU Requirements
The WRU require that individuals are proficient in IT skills, specifically Microsoft packages. Excellent written and verbal communications are essential, along with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh and a Valid UK Driver's License is desirable. This role is subject to a basic/enhanced DBS check.
