Job description

What you will do in your working day

• Become fully conversant with current legislation and codes of practice for electrical installations.
• Become fully conversant with electrical principles.
• Learn to undertake electrical installation tasks in accordance with approved drawings.
• Learn to undertake the building, wiring and testing of electrical control cubicles.
• Learn to undertake testing and fault-finding activities associated with electrical circuits and components.
• Learn to safely use electrical meters and calibration equipment.
• Learn to safely use powered and hand tools.

The training you will be getting

• Complete national academic qualification as defined by the apprenticeship training standard; Installation and maintenance electrician / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education
• Training will most likely be block release

There is potential for a full time position being made available for the right candidate. The organisation often supports further training and the role can be a gateway to further career opportunities in more senior positions
