Assistant Buyer
- Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday.
- Hybrid working with 2-3 days-based in-office rest at Home.

This is working for one of the UK's largest car dealer groups most popular and celebrated car, van, truck and motorbike manufacturers.
The role
Your role as an Assistant Buyer will see you utilising your strong administration skillset and working collaboratively and communicating with stakeholders. Analysing data and spending you will have full ownership of your position and will be given a perfect opportunity to start your career within indirect procurement supported by a dedicated and established Procurement Team. So Good Excel and Admin skills are a must, and training is on offer.
What you'll do
- Processing ad hoc requests with relevant suppliers and negotiating where possible to ensure value for money is being obtained.
- Managing transactional spending compliance and identifying improvements to the process
- Manage selected procurement projects with the support of the wider Procurement team.
- Own the collation of key MI reporting for supplier performance and work with the wider Procurement team to identify areas of improvement and implement where needed.
- Maintain the preferred supplier list and communicate any changes with relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor and escalate where necessary the financial health of key suppliers.
- Collate required data for the wider Procurement team.
- Manage supplier rebate reconciliation ensuring timely payment of rebate payments.
- General supplier administration management (e.g. fuel card administration)
- Proactively resolve any queries from stakeholders (Internal and external)
- Own and manage the new supplier onboarding and due diligence process.
About You:-
Maybe you are in a purchasing role or a purchasing administration role and are looking to take the next step into a strategic procurement function or have demonstrable experience in a process-driven administration-based role. Or maybe you have good Excel, Administration and Communication skills and are looking for a start or a new career or change in career. In addition, we would be looking for candidates to possess-
