Buyer Position in Wolverhampton

Contract Duration: 6 Months
Working Hours: 37 hours per week
Work Arrangement: Hybrid working
Hourly Rate: £18-£20 per hour

Are you a motivated and detail-oriented individual with experience in Supply Chain or Manufacturing planning? Our Client is currently seeking a dynamic Buyer to join their team in Wolverhampton on a 6-month contract.

Job Description:

As a Buyer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring on-time deliveries by managing day-to-day communication with suppliers. Your meticulous attention to detail, proactive problem-solving, and commitment to achieving high output will contribute to the smooth operation of our supply chain. This role involves building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and requires a methodical, common-sense approach to tasks and problem-solving.

Job Responsibilities:

• Order book management for multiple suppliers


• Raise and amend purchase/scheduled orders


• Resolve invoice queries and issue RFQs


• Notify and challenge pricing changes


• Provide critical updates/delivery status to internal stakeholders


• Engage with cross-functional teams to resolve supply chain issues


• Maintain updated escalation files for stakeholder reference


• Review personal internal stats (Metrics) for analysis and action


• Collaborate with Account Manager to develop business-forward solutions


• Demonstrate a track record of KPI improvement in aerospace or similar environments


• Assist in account reviews and projects with suppliers


• Proactively mitigate and minimise supply chain risks


• Work with NPI teams and engineering for timely solutions to new requirements


• Collaborate on supplier strategy with account managers and commodity managers


• Negotiate and manage supplier costs in line with business requirements


• Resolve supplier payment and invoice issues


• Facilitate stakeholder reviews supporting change management and transfer programs


• Understand suppliers' sub-cons and sub-suppliers to improve the production path

Experience:

• Ideally experienced in Supply Chain or Manufacturing planning


• Experience in the Aerospace industry is desired but not essential

Qualifications:

• CIPs qualification desired


• 2:1 or greater degree classification in business or engineering desired
