Recra are working in partnership with a reputable and forward thinking engineering business who manufacture, and distribute electronic products and automation solutions who are recruiting for a Engineering Manager.
Role Overall Purpose:
The Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading and developing the engineering team, including coordinating and exercising authority for planning, organisation, leadership and completion of engineering tasks. The Engineering Manager will coordinate programs and activities to achieve timely resolution to manufacturing problems and new process launches. The Engineering Manager will be accountable for the development of manufacturing capabilities and for ensuring proper manufacturing processing to obtain maximum productivity and quality.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Designs, implements, and refines product development, testing, and manufacturing processes.
• Manages staff and assigns tasks to engineering and technical personnel.
• Leads teams in the development of new products, solutions, and processes.
• Oversees resource allocation.
• Strives to improve efficiency and sustainability of processes and product designs, and to reduce waste.
• Secures the resources needed for teams to excel, including researching and proposing capital investments.
• Helps to create and oversee project budgets and engages in cost management strategies.
• Attends trade shows and conferences and makes site visits to suppliers’ facilities.
• Advocates on behalf of team members by securing adequate resources for success.
• Communicates technical information to non-technical stakeholders, including investors and potential customers.
• Maintains high level expertise in their field or sector.
• Assures that processes meet quality and safety compliance guidelines.
• Collaborates with other team leaders and departments.
• Forges and maintains relationships with suppliers and customers.

 
Experience: (minimum needed to be able to undertake the role):

• Several years’ experience in a similar role.
• Experience of working in the building or electrical automation industry.
• Sound working knowledge of electrical products.
• Advanced skills in AutoCAD, Revit, E-Plan.
• BIM knowledge
• Basic understanding of Industrial Automation and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
• Strong IT knowledge (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Qualifications/technical training/professional membership:

• Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent
• 4-5 Years relevant work experience
• 1 – 2 Years management experience
• Minimum Level 5 or equivalent engineering qualification
• Accreditation for ATEX and IECEx equipment certification.
• Driving licence
