Senior Structural Engineer

Harrow

£70,000 - £75,000 + car allowance

Our client is an established and renowned contractor, offering a full range of construction services throughout the South East of England.

Their team in Harrow has an opportunity for an experienced Senior Structural Engineer who is technically capable to independently carry out temporary works designs and CAT2/3 checks. They need a confident, client facing engineer who is able to work and engage with the preconstruction team, fielding technical questions at tender bids.

The role:

• Liaise with the project manager and develop temporary works designs;
• Present design and sequence proposals to the client;
• Represent the company at design meetings and client meetings;
• Develop CDP (contractor design portion) items with the client design team and the project team;

• Manage the contract programme with the project manager ensure that critical design items are delivered;

• Write weekly technical reports to form part of the weekly technical submission;
• Engage with preconstruction team to help develop bids for new projects;
• Form technical proposals and assist with forming cost plans for the technical proposals;
• Cary out temporary works design for working platforms, haul roads, retaining structures etc;
• Report to Head of engineering.

About you:

• Degree in civil or structural engineering;
• Minimum 5 years’ experience;
• Experience of temporary works design, as well as foundation design;
• Able to design to Eurocodes.

You will be attending site and client meetings and will therefore need a full clean driving licence.
