About the role
Our Facilities & Maintenance Technician is vital to the efficiency, development and progress of manufacturing and processing and is a key role within our site team. You will be responsible for the delivery of preventative and reactive maintenance to ensure the continued operation of the machinery and equipment in our production and warehouse departments, reduce the incidence of breakdowns and develop strategies to improve overall reliability and safety of plant, personnel and production processes.
Additionally, you will have responsibility for the maintenance of fixtures and fittings within the site to ensure reliability, minimise delays and comply with safety standards. You will act as a point of contact for any contractors who may be working on site, with responsibility for Permits to Work and inductions.
Key roles and responsibilities include;
• The delivery and recording of planned preventative and reactive maintenance on a range of machinery and equipment, including a variety of bespoke golf club production machinery
• Responding to any Facilities / Building issues, delivering repairs where possible and engaging with specialist contractors where required to ensure the safety and security of the fixtures and fittings
• Supporting the QHSE & Facilities Manager with the control of contractor works by delivering site inductions, issuing Permits to Work and monitoring the work of contractors, to ensure adherence to site contractor management policies
• Full adherence to all company health and safety policies and procedures, and being a positive example for health and safety behaviours and attitudes to colleagues and contractors
• Sourcing, procurement and stock management of Engineering, Machinery and Facilities spares, tooling and consumables, to ensure the continued and safe operation of all site equipment
• Liaising with colleagues to create bespoke solutions to improve machine efficiency and Health and Safety at workstations.
• Liaising with departments and other stakeholders on the scheduling of maintenance work/repairs to minimise any impacts on production operations from maintenance works
• Promoting a culture of continuous improvement, and leading by example to ensure company goals are achieved and exceeded
• Designing maintenance strategies, procedures and methods to improve the reliability of machinery
• Performing site facilities maintenance tasks as required including painting, refilling of chemical containers, security inspections and other tasks

This role is ideally suited to a well-organised & motivated time-served mechanical and electrical engineer (mechanical qualifications essential, electrical qualifications beneficial). The right person will work under pressure, take a methodical approach to problem solving and have a “Right First Time” attitude.
Support regarding the maintenance of our specialist machinery will be provided locally on-site, with additional support from our colleagues in Japan (where our machinery is bespoke manufactured).
The ideal candidate will be/have;
• A strong background in the delivery of planned preventative mechanical maintenance within a fast-paced production environment
• A methodical approach to problem solving and reactive maintenance, with a composed approach when working under pressure
• A flexible approach to managing a range of tasks across maintenance and site facilities
• A strong focus on health & safety
• Ability to work under minimal supervision and prioritise their own workload
• A team player, with a strong focus on delivering the best solutions for their customers, internal or external
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong IT skills, capable of working with excel and databases as well as standard Outlook and MS Office packages
