Job description
We are seeking to appoint a highly skilled, motivated, enthusiastic and experienced Network Manager to lead our IT Technician team, providing an essential service in the maintenance and sustainability of the school network.
The successful candidate will be a committed team player with excellent organisational skills and a keen interest in technological development. You will have a proven track record in problem-solving and provide proactive support to the school community. The role requires an eye for detail and someone who is also able to manage competing time demands and deadlines. You will be adaptable, flexible and resilient, with a clear capacity to maintain confidentiality. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Experience of working in a large educational setting would be an advantage.
This is a key role on our large campus for over 1,600 students. The Network Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the planning and operation of ICT infrastructure across the whole site. You will lead the team of IT Technicians, liaising with the Business Manager, Senior Leaders and key staff cross the school. There will also be ongoing communication with contractors and the local authority health and safety contractors. The Network team currently includes two other experienced full-time members of staff. The team currently maintains hardware and software systems across the site, using a helpdesk system to coordinate support.
The for this post is generic, but there will be every opportunity as part of the interview process to discuss this in detail. Ideally, we are looking for a July start to provide time for a handover with the current postholder.
