Job description

A phenomenally successful, pioneering energy company in Guildford is looking for an accomplished Senior Management Accountant to join their rapidly growing finance department and act as a floating resource/subject matter expert across numerous end clients.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Senior Management Accountant will develop in depth knowledge of the day-to-day financial activities, reporting requirements and month end processes for various group entities, using their expertise to provide effective financial guidance and support to both internal and external stakeholders.

What will the Senior Management Accountant role involve?

• Lender management including update of bank models, preparation of loan covenant compliance and ensuring all obligations are met;
• Review of monthly management accounts, cashflow forecasting, variance analysis as and when needed;
• Undertake complex finance tasks, ad hoc projects and consolidation activities, creating templates with a view to automating and simplifying processes;
• Preparation of management accounts, balance sheet reconciliation and reporting templates to suit individual client needs;
• Support continuous improvement in accounting and reporting processes in conjunction with the wider Finance and ERP Development teams;
• Assist with contract review for financial obligations, reviewing calculations and preparing contract summaries.

Suitable Candidate for the Senior Management Accountant vacancy:

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with a proven track record in similar finance roles;
• Strong financial acumen and technical accounting skills, with exposure to both management and statutory accounting;
• Knowledge of IFRS, FRS 102, FRS 101 and UK GAAP;
• Proficient in the use of accounting software and ERP systems (Unit4 Business World/Agresso an advantage) plus advanced Excel skills;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels;
• A background in the energy sector is highly desirable.
