Manpower is recruiting a chef to work for our client the NHS. You will have an integral role in delivering safe, nutritious, and flavourful meals to patients, staff, and visitors. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cook to contribute to their commitment to excellence in patient care and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
As Cook, you will have a hands-on role in food preparation, production, and service while maintaining high standards of safety, hygiene, and quality. Your role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including:
- Assisting in food preparation, cooking, and distribution, catering to dietary requirements and preferences.
- Collaborating with the culinary team to ensure timely and high-quality meal service, including function and buffet menus.
- Contributing to the cleanliness and maintenance of premises and equipment.
- Utilising computerised systems to maintain accurate records and uphold departmental standards and quality monitoring procedures.
- Adhering to Catering Operational Policies, Codes of Practice, and HACCP Systems within the hospital.
- Supporting requisitioning and stock maintenance of food/non-food items in the absence of Shift Leaders.
- Reporting equipment breakdowns and ensuring Health & Safety compliance.
- Ensuring proper receipt, storage, and use of food items, materials, and equipment.
Person Specification: Training and Qualifications:
- Desirable: HACCP Level 1, Manual Handling Training/First Aid Certificate, Customer Service Training, Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Essential: Knowledge of Catering/Hospitality, previous supervisory experience,
- Desirable: Knowledge of Cafeteria style and buffet service, experience of NHS Catering (Cook freeze system), dietary knowledge, knowledge of Microsoft Office Software Systems.
Working hours
You will be required to work between 30 - 37.5 hours per week on rota basis. Full flexibility is required
Pay
- Weekdays £11.67
- Saturdays & Nights £15.75
- Sundays & Bank Holidays £19.72
