Job description

Driver Hire Bournemouth and Salisbury are very exc ite d to now be offering flexible temporary opportunities for experienced and professional HGV Class 1 and HGV Class 2 drivers with our client in Bournemouth.

For this role you will be required to complete deliveries in an HGV curtain-sider. Unloading will be completed with a pallet truck or unloaded by the customer at the delivery site. 6-7 is the typical amount of drops per round for day shifts and night shifts are usually a single drop at a pallet hub in the midlands.

Position: HGV Class 1 and HGV Class 2 Driver

Days: Monday-Friday (flexible)

Start time: 07:00 AM (night trunk shifts are also available, 18:00 start)

Start date: ASAP

Location: Bournemouth

Pay Rate: £14-15 (basic) – £16-17.25 (nights) – £16-18.50 (weekends) – £25 night-out allowance (for tramping work). Quoted rate is for PAYE accrued holiday pay.

As a HGV Driver you MUST have:

• a valid UK Class 1 or Class 2 HGV driving licence
• a valid CPC and digital tachograph card
• a minimum of 6 months of recent commercial experience
• no more than 6 penalty points (no DR, DD or IN codes)
• your own transport to get to and from work

As a HGV Driver you will be responsible for:

• planning routes and loading a vehicle
• delivering pallets manually (day shift) or having pallets loaded/unloaded for you (night shift)
• providing excellent customer service skills
• completing deliveries in an HGV vehicle
