The Coopers’ Company and Coborn School is a dynamic, co-educational 11-18 school. Inspired by our historic tradition of 'Love as Brethren', we strive to be outstanding in everything we do, producing young people who have the confidence, qualifications, experience and aspiration to be successful in the 21st Century world.
We are seeking a well-qualified and enthusiastic Head of Careers who feels they can make a significant contribution to the school as a whole.
The successful candidate will have the ability to make a real difference to the life chances of thousands of students. Careers provision is one of our USPs as a school – we are rightly proud of our outstanding programme of support which has been refined and developed over two decades by the current post-holder. By strategically leading our careers provision at the key transition points of 14, 16 and 18 years of age you will impact the choices and future directions that young people take. You will act as a crucial conduit between our students and employers and ensure that the skills required for employability are championed throughout the school. You will be abreast of the latest developments in the labour market and use this to impact the exposure of students to employability routes such as apprenticeships. An excellent networker, you will be capable of building strong relationships with our alumni network, outside organisations and major international companies, to the benefit of our students. You will also be able to fully support students looking to continue further academic study, through the traditional university application route.
We enjoy a fine reputation for the quality of our pastoral care and are committed to the professional development of all our staff. More information on the school can be found on the school website, or click here for our promotional video.
The school is a short walk from Upminster station where Overground and Underground services are available; these connect to central London (Fenchurch Street), Romford and all District Line destinations. The school is also a short drive from the M25, A12 and A13.
