Job description

Protocol are working closely with a Further Education College based in West Bromwich in their search for an experienced Assistant Director of MIS to work with the Director of Information Services, Funding and Exams, the post holder is responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of robust management information and data processing arrangements, which support the college to achieve learner and funding targets.

The role;
This position is offering full time hours on a Permanent basis. 
The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the data team, including curriculum setup, timetabling and ILR and will be expected to carry out audit, eligibility and compliance checks on learner documentation to ensure accuracy of the college’s funding claims and general compliance with stakeholder requirements. The main focus of the post will be compliance with funding rules and accuracy of the data underpinning the ILR. The post holder will provide leadership, promote staff development and will operationally manage the service by having a strong understanding funding methodologies, information management, reporting, systems development, curriculum planning and performance monitoring.

 Due to the nature of the business, the post requires physical presence on site . The postholder will be based at the main West Bromwich campus, but – on occasion – may be required to travel to other college campuses.

Key Responsibilities;

Lead and manage the Funding Data team, ensuring that staff and resources are allocated efficiently.

Manage the ILR claims process, ensuring that student data is recorded accurately and submitted within the required timeframes.

Ensure PDSAT, SCORE and other systems are comprehensively reviewed, with actions taken to ensure funding claims are complete and compliant.

Develop, maintain and update associated funding documentation and electronic records, in line with both internal and external funding requirements.

Actively participate in and lead – if required – all student data related funding audits.

Provide funding and data training to the wider MIS team, other staff and key stakeholders.

Keep up to date with funding developments within the FE sector, particularly those that may change information requirements, and advise staff accordingly.

Actively plan and participate in enrolment activities throughout the college.

Advise on the impact of curriculum decisions on college performance statistics and funding regulations.

Participate in the annual curriculum planning cycle as directed by line manager.

Ensure that course master file and timetabling across the organization is completed in a timely and accurate manner.

Work closely with the Corporate Information Team to develop reporting mechanism across the organization, streamline processes and improve access to key managerial information.

Actively participate in an annual performance planning, monitoring and review processes.

Contribute to the identification, reporting and control of risks across the employer led provision managed by the College and its subcontractors, if applicable.

Other duties commensurate to the grade as directed by the postholder’s line manager.

Deputise for Director of Information Services, Funding and Exams when required.
