The Company

Erewash Sound is an established, award-winning, local radio station in the East Midlands covering the Derbyshire borough of Erewash. We are a not-for-profit Community Interest Company and have expanded our radio broadcast coverage in the past few years. We can be heard on two FM frequencies, online, on the Erewash Sound app and on smart speakers. Our fun and friendly team is passionate about our local area and can be seen at key events including carnivals, car shows and Christmas light switch-ons. The station invests in marketing across the areas it broadcasts to, including billboard advertising, on street telephone boxes, bus stops and social media.

We are looking to appoint an ‘Advertising and Sales Manager’ on a 12-month contract role.

Role Responsibilities

As our Advertising and Sales Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind connecting local businesses with their target audience through innovative on-air campaigns.

You will generate sales leads from businesses in and around Erewash, build positive relationships and work with clients to create a creative radio campaign that works for them through sales of on-air advertising and sponsorship.

The post will be 37.5 hours a week based at our Media Centre with opportunities for remote working.

This role is offered as a fixed-term 12-month contract, with opportunity to extend subject to funding.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

We are looking for someone with a proven track record in sales, who can give great customer service and is passionate about building client relationships with local businesses. You will be able to access training and support around our available advertising and sponsorship packages. You will need to be able to work independently under your own initiative, as well as contributing to the wider team.

The salary will be £24,000 per year with generous commission on sales. 28 days holiday per year, inclusive of Bank Holidays.
