We're looking for an experienced ACCA or CIMA qualified Financial Control Manager to join us in the Sarbanes Oxley team, part of CFO. You'll be responsible for the testing, monitoring and enhancements of controls over financial reporting (S-Ox controls). As the Financial Control Manager, you'll be working with business areas to manage risks and control weaknesses identified through internal testing and / or audit testing.To be successful in this role you'll need to work collaboratively with the wider bank and have a strong awareness of wider risks which may impact the S-Ox control framework indirectly.The difference you'll make
- Taking responsibility for the integrity of a specific S-Ox control population; ensuring that controls are fit for purpose and of a high standard and, ensuring that the population of S-Ox controls is complete (with reference to best practice frameworks such as COSO)
- Providing advice, assistance, and good practice guidance to business contacts, to ensure that an effective S-Ox control environment is maintained
- Performing design and operating effectiveness testing of controls in line with internal procedures and the S-Ox Control Self-Assessment (CSA) campaign deadlines
- Working directly with business contacts to ensure annual certification of controls is completed in line with CSA deadlines
- Tracking and reporting status of remediation progress of control issues and report to stakeholders in the UK and Group
- Identifying S-Ox risk and control impacts as a result of change initiatives and ensure these are adequately addressed
What you'll bring
- ACCA, CIMA qualified (or equivalent) accountant with a good understanding of banking / large Financial Services organisation
- Strong interpersonal skills / ability to build collaborative business relationships
It would also be nice for you to have
- Controls background (external or internal audit)
- Coordinating meetings and deep dive sessions with business areas
- Understanding of Risk and Risk Management
- Excellent problem-solving skills
