Duties/Responsibilities
The Commercial Manager (Projects), is the driver for developing contract value optimisation and tracking project performance across all contract service streams.
- As a Commercial Manager you will implement, direct, monitor and control the EMCOR UK commercial framework consistently across the projects business, including customer and supply chain contracts, risk and legal requirements
- You'll have a continuous drive to improve the profitability and competitive performance of the business through selling and negotiating skills and maximising opportunities
- You'll pursuereduced risk and optimised profit across the suite of contracts in place and support the drive to obtain additional valuable opportunities as they arise
- You'll lead on all commercial project activity including NEC/JCT/bespoke contract and all activities pertaining to this such as cost monitoring, early warning notices, LAD’s and variations including client and supply chain final accounts
- You'll work to establish strong business relationships with operations, estimators & finance functions both with FM accounts and wider EMCOR UK Group to deliver on collective business plans
- Providing commercial input to business proposals, you'll have full responsibility for the negotiations, valuations, interims and final accounts of major opportunities and projects
- You'll work to protect the EMCOR UK "brand" through the application of professional commercial practice and principles, whilstproviding proactive business advice and support for service development opportunities, major projects and key organisational initiatives that ensure that sound commercial decisions are taken and financial risks are understood for the contract.
Person Specification
- You'll need experience of preparing and negotiating complex legal and commercial aspects of sizeable contracts and opportunities, withexperience in a projects environment of value led sales pricing, general cost estimating, schedule of rates and tender process
- You'll also need experience within a quantity surveying environment dealing with all matters appertaining to agreeing all final accounts, contract variations both with direct customers and EMCOR UK applicable supply chain
- You'll have a thorough understanding of the principles of risk management, as well as strong analysis and report writing skills, demonstrating attention to detail
- You'll be able to work as part of a team and communicate issues to both Senior Managers and local colleagues, with the demonstrable ability to contribute to the development of long-term business plans and commercial strategy.
