Job description

ABA Therapist for Primary School SEN Support

Are you an experienced ABA Therapist passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate ABA Therapist to join our team a primary school to provide specialised support to SEN children in a primary school setting.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualized Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) programs for SEN children to support their learning and development in the primary school setting.
  • Conduct functional behavior assessments and design behavior intervention plans tailored to the specific needs of SEN children with diverse learning challenges.
  • Collaborate closely with SENCOs, teachers, and support staff to integrate ABA strategies into classroom activities and promote inclusive practices.
  • Provide direct one-on-one ABA therapy sessions to SEN children, focusing on skill acquisition, behavior management, and social communication within the primary school environment.
  • Collect and analyze data to monitor progress, track outcomes, and adjust interventions accordingly to ensure optimal support for SEN children.
  • Participate actively in SEN team meetings, contribute to the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), and provide ongoing feedback and recommendations for student support.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Special Education, or a related field, with a strong emphasis on SEN support in primary education.
  • Certification or training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy, with a proven track record of implementing ABA interventions effectively with SEN children.
  • Previous experience working as an ABA Therapist or SEN Support Specialist in primary schools, with a deep understanding of SEN best practices and educational strategies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support the diverse needs of SEN children.
  • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to working with SEN children, with a genuine commitment to fostering their academic, social, and emotional growth.
