• Salary: £32,000 – £36,000 per annum, based on experience

Role Overview:

In this pivotal role, you will manage their Supported Accommodation facilities, ensuring they are safe, welcoming, and supportive for their young people. Your leadership will be instrumental in upholding their commitment to excellence in care and support.

Job Responsibilities:

• Operations Management: Oversee the daily operations of the residential home, ensuring full compliance with all relevant legislative, contractual, health, and educational standards for the well-being of young people.
• Specialised Care Support: Provide support to young people with moderate physical disabilities and complex additional needs, tailoring services to meet their unique requirements.
• Collaboration and Liaison: Work closely with various departments and external specialist agencies to develop and implement comprehensive plans and programs. This collaboration aims to facilitate the rehabilitation of young people into the community and fulfil contractual obligations.
• Staff Development: Lead, coach, and mentor staff members, providing regular supervision to enhance performance, adherence to ethical standards, and compliance with policies, legislation, and inspection frameworks.
• Budget Management: Assist in budget planning and oversee budget control to align with financial objectives.
• Legislative Compliance: Keep abreast of and implement changes in legislation related to occupancy, ensuring adherence to enhanced requirements.
• Resource Management: Identify staffing needs, overseeing the recruitment, training, and development of staff to optimise service delivery and meet established standards.
• Health and Safety Leadership: Foster a positive health and safety culture, maintaining high company and external accreditation standards.
• Staff Supervision: Conduct regular staff supervision to identify and address training and development needs.
• Child Protection: Ensure the safeguarding and protection of the young people in the care.
• Relationship Building: Establish trust and respect with young people to effectively communicate information and advice.
• Documentation Management: Produce, maintain, and distribute essential house paperwork, ensuring accurate and accessible record-keeping.
• Behaviour Management: Manage complex behaviours among young people, encouraging engagement in positive, structured routines, including crisis intervention when necessary.
• Holistic Care and Support: Provide comprehensive care and support encompassing the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, and social needs of the young people.
• On-Call Duties: Participate in an on-call rota system alongside Senior Support Workers.
• Community Engagement: Develop and maintain relationships with local communities and organisations to support the integration and social inclusion of the young people.
• Quality Assurance: Regularly review and evaluate the quality of care provided, implementing improvements where necessary to ensure the highest standards are maintained.
• Policy Development: Contribute to the development and updating of policies and procedures, ensuring they reflect current best practices and legislative requirements.
• Incident Management: Effectively handle any incidents or emergencies, ensuring proper procedures are followed and all relevant parties are informed.
• Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed reports on home operations, incidents, and progress of the residents for senior management and regulatory bodies.
• Parental and Guardian Liaison: Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians, providing updates on the well-being and progress of the young people.
• Training and Workshops: Organise and participate in training sessions and workshops for both staff and residents to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the care environment.
• Program Evaluation: Oversee the evaluation of residential programs, ensuring they meet the needs of the young people and align with the home's objectives.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services; or equivalent; or a preparedness to work towards the same.
• Demonstrate commitment to continuing professional development.

Experience required:

• 3 years’ experience working with children and young people in the last 5 years and at least 1 year at senior level.
• Supervision or management experience.
• Working with children, young people, and their families.
• Work in a residential setting.
• Inter-agency work.
