Job description

We are looking for an experienced Civils Technician to join a reputable multidisciplinary consultancy. The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing infrastructure/highways and drainage drawings relating to medium to large development infrastructure projects. You will have experience working on sections , and 106 schemes. You will be expected to attend the office in Birmingham and will be involved in supporting senior staff with design, document control and providing technical expertise. Your responsibilities will include: Receiving proposed masterplans and using available data to create drainage networks to suit.Modelling the drainage networks in Micro-drainage and transferring the simulated networks to CAD and finishing off drawingsDeveloping Chamber & Pipe Schedules as necessary.Developing packages of SuDS-based drainage drawings supported with design reports.Receiving instructions from Senior Engineers on Geometric Parameters and Standards to be used for each project, and using the information to model roads/car parks/ponds etc in accordance with the set standards.Exporting 2D and 3D information/CAD Xrefs from the models for inclusion in drawings.Developing a set of drawings for a project by providing essential 3D Cad XrefsProducing Setting Out Drawings and Setting Out Report based on developed 3D model.Working with the Civils Team to perform Earthworks Balance exercises and production of final Earthworks Report.Production of Earthworks Drawings to provide instruction to the contractor on how to carry out earthworks on site. The Ideal Candidate will have: Minimum of 3 years demonstrable experience in a similar roleProficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D software with demonstrable experience in infrastructure development projects under Sections , and 106.Strong understanding of relevant regulations, standards, and procedures governing infrastructure development projects.Ability to work accurately, flexibly and to integrate their work with other discipline areas, whilst working to tight programme and budget constraints Our client offers flexible working, a competitive salary, professional development support and much more.
