Position:

Primary Care Administrator - (Faculty of Health Sciences) - Hull York Medical School

Working Pattern:

21.7 hrs / 3 days Pro rata

The Schooloperates a hybrid working model and supports flexible working. This rolewill be based at the University of Hull site and will be for three days per week, one of which will need to be Thursday.  There will be an infrequent requirement to travel to the University of York site for meetings and/or events.There may be an infrequent requirement to work evenings to support events.

The Role:

We are seekinga dynamic and organisedindividual to join our team as an administrator. Previousexperience of working in a busy office environment is essential and you must have good organisationalskills, strong attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communicationskills. The ability to work proactively and solve problems is essential, as is being able to work independently and as part of a team. 

 

With guidance from the Primary Care Coordinator, you will be responsible forproviding administrative support forthe delivery of Primary Care Placements for Hull York Medical Students.  You will be a key point of contact for placement providers, and colleagues within Hull York Medical School and local NHS Schemes. You willalso provide administrative support for the planning of learning activities for GP Tutors, quality assurance monitoring of placement providers, and formatting and editing learning resources for GP Tutors. You will provide secretariat support for Primary Care Group meetings, and other committees and meetingsas required.You will also use University systems to raise requisitions to facilitatepayments to placement providers and support the process of setting up new suppliers as needed. 

The joint medical school of the Universities of Hull and York, Hull York Medical School is committed to transforming the health of people within the region and beyond – through its students, staff and the impact of its teaching and research. Approximately one-third of the School’s Medicine course teaching is in a primary care or community setting and we work in partnership with over 100 GP surgeries across the region, from large group practices in inner city locations to independent practices in outer villages and coastal areas. Our primary care partners play a key role in training our students to become brilliant doctors and physician associates, who are ready to make a positive difference to people's lives. 

 

The Primary Care Administrator will play a vital role in planning and coordinating primary care placements for students at Hull York Medical School. This is a fixed-term, part-time role, where you will be part of the Primary Care Team– a smallteam working within the school’s ProgrammeDelivery and Assessment Team. The Primary Care Team consists of two Primary Care Coordinators, who work closely with the ProgrammeManager, Director of Primary Care Educationand local Associate Directors of Primary Care to coordinate the delivery of primary care placements for MBBS students within Hull York Medical School.
