Funded by Foundation Scotland, CVS Falkirk has created a new role and a unique opportunity to work within thecommunities of Denny, Dunipace, Dennyloanhead and Head of Muir to build capacity, encourage and increasecommunity engagement, volunteering and participation by local people for local people.
Through a place based approach, the Community Development Officer will support and be a catalyst to increasingcommunity activity in Denny, Dunipace, Dennyloanhead and Head of Muir, building on residents’ skills andknowledge, and stimulating community capacity and increasing volunteerism amongst new and existing communitygroups.
Providing community engagement and development opportunities to support new and existing groups to collaborate andtake their ideas forward, bringing to fruition key community projects, and contributing to the local CommunityAction Plan.

Role
Due to internal changes driven by newly funded projects, we are looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic individualto deliver CVS Inverclyde’s (CVSI) Third Sector Interface (TSI) function. The postholder will be responsible fordelivering organisational development and capacity building support to the voluntary, community and third sectorin Inverclyde.
We are seeking someone with broad third sector experience who can provide advice and support across a range ofspecialist areas, ideally based on their own previous experience. The post holder will be responsible forleading advice and guidance to groups around a range of key topics including governance, organisationaldevelopment, business planning, partnership development and community development as well as signposting toappropriate agencies and national intermediaries.
The postholder will support the broader work of CVS Inverclyde in developing a strong Third Sector, includingdelivery of training, workshops and policy development relevant to the speciality areas connected with thispost.

General Duties
We are currently recruiting for a Development Lead to join our team and provide capacity support for the Third SectorChief Officer's Group (TSCOG) to deliver upon their main strategic objectives.
Third Sector Chief Officers Group
The Third Sector Chief Officers Group (TSCOG) was formed in 2016 when a number of CEO’s of Third Sector organisationsin South Lanarkshire came together under the auspices of VASLan to support each other during a period ofsignificant strategic and financial challenge and change.The group met fortnightly to play a significant role inproviding peer support and sharing information to ensure joined up services during the COVID pandemic.
The TSCOG are now ready to move onto the next stage of their development, with this role providing additionalcapacity to deliver upon their strategic objectives.
Job Purpose:
This role is a shared resource for the TSCOG, hosted within VASLan with the workplan directed by a TSCOG SteeringGroup. The purpose of this role is to provide capacity within the TSCOG to deliver upon our 3 strategicobjectives; strategic engagement, being collaborative, and income and strategic commissioning.
Due to our continued success in securing funding Volunteer Centre East Lothian (VCEL), the Third Sector Interface forEast Lothian are excited to be able to continue to grow and expand our team.

The role will be part of the Third Sector Interface (TSI) Team and will support the CommunityEmpowerment Agenda via Community Asset Transfer (CAT) and Community Wealth Building (CWB), providing a widerange of information and support to East Lothian groups and organisations with an interest in Community AssetTransfer.
