Job Description:
The CAMHS Practitioner at our client's facility in Stafford plays a critical role in the provision of evidence-based mental health care to children and adolescents. You will work closely with a team of mental health professionals to assess, diagnose, and provide therapeutic interventions for young individuals experiencing a range of emotional and psychological challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct thorough assessments to identify mental health needs and diagnose a variety of emotional and psychological conditions in children and adolescents.
Treatment Planning: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the young person, their family, and the multidisciplinary team.
Therapeutic Interventions: Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, which may include individual counseling, group therapy, and family therapy, tailored to the specific needs of each patient.
Crisis Management: Be prepared to manage and provide crisis interventions in high-stress situations, ensuring the safety and well-being of the young individuals.
Medication Management: Collaborate with psychiatrists and medical professionals to manage and monitor psychiatric medications when necessary.
Collaboration: Work closely with child and adolescent psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other mental health professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
Family Support: Offer support and education to families, helping them understand and cope with their child's mental health challenges.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in accordance with healthcare regulations and standards.
Community Outreach: Participate in community education and outreach initiatives to raise awareness and promote mental health in the community.
