Job Description:

The CAMHS Practitioner at our client's facility in Stafford plays a critical role in the provision of evidence-based mental health care to children and adolescents. You will work closely with a team of mental health professionals to assess, diagnose, and provide therapeutic interventions for young individuals experiencing a range of emotional and psychological challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct thorough assessments to identify mental health needs and diagnose a variety of emotional and psychological conditions in children and adolescents.

2. Treatment Planning: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the young person, their family, and the multidisciplinary team.

3. Therapeutic Interventions: Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, which may include individual counseling, group therapy, and family therapy, tailored to the specific needs of each patient.

4. Crisis Management: Be prepared to manage and provide crisis interventions in high-stress situations, ensuring the safety and well-being of the young individuals.

5. Medication Management: Collaborate with psychiatrists and medical professionals to manage and monitor psychiatric medications when necessary.

6. Collaboration: Work closely with child and adolescent psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other mental health professionals to ensure comprehensive care.

7. Family Support: Offer support and education to families, helping them understand and cope with their child's mental health challenges.

8. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in accordance with healthcare regulations and standards.

9. Community Outreach: Participate in community education and outreach initiatives to raise awareness and promote mental health in the community.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field.
• Professional registration with a relevant body
• Previous experience working with children and adolescents in a mental health setting is preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and therapeutic skills.
• Knowledge of child and adolescent mental health disorders, evidence-based treatments, and therapeutic modalities.
• Excellent communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
