The Role
Navartis are currently working with a highly respected client in the rail sector to recruit a Freight Operations Controller into their current team
This role will see you managing the real time co-ordination of freight services, handling occurrences such as accidents/incidents along with other control room based duties, working in safety critical environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Working as part of the operations team to deliver efficient, optimal and safe planning for all customers (including operation during disruptive events)
Manage the real time monitoring of all freight services
Ensure all communication is clear, within the correct timescales and contributes to the efficient and safe running of the fleet
Handle the reporting, recording and where needed the escalation of incidents/accidents/ environmental factors in an efficient manner to the appropriate contacts
Liaise with other departments to collaboratively produce best results
Involvement in developing/implementing service recovery plans
Manage the real time monitoring of all rail services
Ideal candidate experience/qualifications include:
Experience of working in a similar operations environment
Previous exposure to strategic decision making
Strong communication skills, ability to make objective decisions
Confidence to make safety critical decisions based upon real time events
Ability to work as part of a team
