Behaviour Support Assistant

Location: Hull  

Start Date: April 2024

Salary: £76 - £95 per day. 


Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young learners? Do you possess the skills to support positive behaviour in a school setting? If so, GSL Education is looking for a dedicated  Behaviour Support Assistant to join a School in Hull .


As a  Behaviour Support Assistant , you will play a crucial role in promoting positive behaviour and fostering a supportive learning environment for Students.


About the School Requirements:
Our Client School is a Secondary Co-Ed School with Students ages 11-16 in KS3 and KS4. It has a strong academic focus and strives to be exceptional, with Students known and treated as individuals. This school received a Good rating from a recent Ofsted inspection.


This role would suit someone who has previously worked as a Behaviour Support Assistant or has worked with Secondary-aged pupils within a different setting. We are also interested in receiving applications from recent Graduates considering a career in the education sector.


Behaviour Support Assistant Responsibilities:
  • Assisting teachers in implementing behaviour management strategies.
  • Providing one-on-one support to students with behavioural challenges.
  • Collaborating with the school's SENCO and other professionals to create tailored intervention plans.
  • Supporting the overall well-being of students and contributing to a positive school ethos.
Behaviour Support Assistant Requirements:
  • Have experience or in-depth knowledge of Special Educational Needs such as Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs, Learning Difficulties such as Literacy and Numeracy difficulties and ADHD. 
  • Experienced in managing behaviour linked to additional needs, be familiar with Lego Play, or Compass Buzz. 
  • Be knowledgeable or experienced in using verbal de-escalation techniques.
  • Have an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for a new one via GSL Education.  DBS sponsorship is available for this position.
