We are recruiting an Assistant Finance Business Partner to join our Team based in West Yorkshire or Manchester. This role offers hybrid working (part office-based, part home-based).
What will you be doing in this role?
The role of Assistant Finance Business Partner will support the FP&A Senior Finance Business Partner to drive high quality, insightful forward-looking performance forecasting and reporting to senior and executive management to facilitate decisions with the business
The Ideal candidate:
This person will support the FP&A Senior FBP to coordinate the 3-year business planning and forecasting process (BPR), ensuring inputs are delivered on-time and to the appropriate quality standard and that the business planning process is fit-for-purpose and effectively communicated.
Key skills and experience:
Candidates will be expected to demonstrate the following knowledge:
- Comfortable with working with large quantities of data
- Experience of financial performance reporting and commercial analysis at all levels
- Excellent communication skills; written & oral and great attention to detail
- Intellectual curiosity focused on understanding the factors affecting commercial performance
- Lateral thinker who can work systematically and methodically through processes, with the ability to 'think outside the box' in identifying and developing solutions that benefit the business
- Experience of operating within large organisations
- Experience of working with multi-currency, consolidation environments
Candidates will be expected to demonstrate the following knowledge:
- Previous exposure to business planning processes, systems and controls, performance management
- Advanced Excel and Powerpoint skills and high degree of comfort with systems and data
- Results driven – with proven experience of delivering and exceeding expectations
- Customer focused – delivers a high level of customer service to senior stakeholders, other internal customers and Group Finance
- Stakeholder management – able to manage and influence a diverse group of key stakeholders
- Resilient – able to deliver results in short timescales
- Able to challenge and improve existing business processes and have an open mind regarding continuous improvement

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Assist the FP&A Senior FBP in the preparation of the monthly reporting packs: updating reports with the latest results and variances; forming supporting commentary; meeting corporate deadlines.
- Review and challenge regional performance vs forecast to provide clarity over drivers of Group performance to the senior management team and Board
- Ensure that controls are reviewed / revised on a regular basis to meet the changing needs and requirements of the business
- Work with the other parts of the Group Commercial Finance team in supporting key growth, business change initiatives and cost reduction programmes
- supported any Transformation projects to ensure the financial goals are achieved as efficiently as possible
- Responding to ad hoc information requests
- support a ‘question and challenge’ culture within the Group Finance community in order to identify and share best practice and drive margin improvement
- Effectively manage and develop the relationships with stakeholders through collaborating, influencing, challenging and negotiating to support the Group in achieving their key objectives
- Support monthly calls with international finance teams.
