Our client seeks a Client Accountant to join their team. Role Profile: The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the day-today ledgers and preparation of financial statements for a broad portfolio of clients. A good working knowledge of Isle of Man and UK Tax would be an advantage. You will either be qualified or part qualified with CAT, ACCA, ACA (or equivalent). Key Responsibilities: To be responsible for the preparation of financial statements and ad-hoc reports for a portfolio of large/key client entities in close consultation with the responsible Administrator. To be responsible for bookkeeping and reconciliations for the portfolio of large/key client entities. To be responsible for the preparation of VAT returns where applicable for the portfolio of large/key client entities. To be responsible for other financial reporting in relation to the portfolio of large/key client entities (as appropriate).To be responsible for keeping the client entity financial records up-to-date on system (including Viewpoint) and physical tangible files; filing to be undertaken timeously; records to be referenced (i.e. named) logically and clearly pursuant to the principle that all records should be capable of being easily accessible and understood by an independent third party; and records should be managed with a view to complying with relevant policies (including but not limited to confidentiality policies, data protection policies, clear desk policy, and IT security policies).To participate and assist the Client Accounts Department Senior Manager in the design, implementation and maintenance of policies and procedures for the purpose of achieving the above responsibilities. To be responsible for identifying and managing technical accounting and statutory financing recording and reporting requirements and best practice and to bring relevant matters and developments to the attention of the Client Accounts Department Senior Manager and relevant Administrators. To liaise and correspond with clients and third parties in a professional manner. To meet chargeable time requirements. To liaise with all departments as required. To observe and comply with internal policies and procedures. To act with the highest standards of ethics, integrity and professionalism. To participate in training and tests provided by pursuant to regulatory obligations to train and test its employees and to demonstrate competency in the topics tested. Anything else reasonably required in the financial administration of its client entities and the maintenance of licence and regulatory compliance. Key Skills and Experience: Relevant professional qualification or ability and commitment to work towards an approved relevant professional qualification; alternatively, an employee may be qualified by experience with responsibility to identify and manage technical financial recording and reporting requirements. Expertise in using Viewpoint and accounting software programs, and Microsoft Excel. Excellent bookkeeping and reconciliation abilities. Excellence in the preparation of financial statements and other financial reports. Excellent financial analysis, and numeracy skills. Appropriate up-to-date annual qualification in topics on which the company has a regulatory obligation to test its employees;...
