Senior Storage Infrastructure Engineer
Knutsford
As a Barclays Senior Storage Infrastructure Engineer, you will be accountable for global engineering priority and product ownership of the Object Storage product portfolio. This is an exciting role, to understand industry trends, working closely with business partners, product management and operational customer, ensuring products are easy to use and secure. It will also be your responsibility to make sure the products are efficient to operate, and you will have the opportunity to automate and offer as a service or via infrastructure.

What will you be doing?
• Providing guidance for developing and implementing solutions that add value and remediate problems within the storage estate
• Partnering with cross division Architects and Engineering to define, design, and deploy a Software Define Storage solution for our NextGen Compute /Storage strategy
• Developing process and strategies to underpin continual remediation management of the estate Tech Debt
• Establishing relationships with key stakeholders within the technology organisation to create a go to function for Storage within Enterprise Infrastructure
• Working with the CTO, Product Management and peer functional team leads to develop new needs for Storage, enhanced DR strategy and pro-active monitoring
• Working in operations by resolving-region Enterprise Storage L2/L3 Operations, often by engagement with product engineering at our suppliers
• Building and describing the resiliency of the engineered product to our architects and other stakeholders
What we’re looking for:
• Experience managing high-performance, globally diverse teams
• Knowledge or experience with storage technologies such as Dell /EMC VMAX, PowerFLex
• Expertise in PureStorage, FlashArray/ Flash Blade and Fusion Cloud
• Knowledge of Cloud mobility, Storage gateway and automated data management products
Skills that will help you in the role:
• Experience in Private and Public Cloud Storage / Data Services
• Ability to demonstrate a good level of design, troubleshooting and product lifecycle
• Desire to take end to end ownership of deliverables to our colleagues and Business partners
Where will you be working?
You will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford. The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our tech command centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations. The campus is set in a 64 acre self-contained site, in a beautiful green environment and it offers unrivalled facilities for work and for play. We have an onsite gym, as well as outdoor tennis, football and cricket areas, as well as onsite restaurant and coffee shops.
