Job description
My client is seeking a passionate and experienced Head Chef to lead the kitchen team at their Mediteranean-Inspired restaurant, located just outside of Derby. The establishment is known for its fresh food menu and idyllic setting, offering a unique dining experience for their customers.
Package on offer:
- Basic salary of £36,000
- Plus Loyalty Bonus
- Plus performance-related bonus
- Plus tips c£200 per month
- Meals on duty
- 48 Hour working week
As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen operations, including menu development, food preparation, staff management, inventory control, and maintaining high levels of cleanliness and food safety. You will work closely with the General Manager to ensure the smooth running of the business and the delivery of exceptional dining experiences for the guests.
Key responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing creative and exciting menus using fresh, locally sourced ingredients
- Managing and training the kitchen staff, ensuring high levels of performance and productivity
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards
- Managing inventory and ordering supplies to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen
- Overseeing the preparation and presentation of all dishes, ensuring consistency and high-quality
- Collaborating with the General Manager to ensure the smooth running of the business and the delivery of exceptional guest experiences
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar leadership role in a restaurant or gastropub setting
- Excellent knowledge of culinary techniques and ingredients, and the ability to develop and implement creative menus
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and train staff to achieve high levels of performance and productivity
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and health and safety regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with guests, staff, and suppliers
