Salary range: £51,515 to £54,702 per annum
Work location: County Hall, Oxford - but with travel countywide. Oxfordshire County Council operates agile working
Hours per week: 37 - we are open to discussions about flexible working

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Estates Team at Oxfordshire County Council working as a Senior Property Officer. You will be joining a dynamic and supportive team of property professionals with a passion to deliver excellent service to our customers.
The role will mainly involve professional activities associated with Landlord & Tenant management of the Council’s property assets to:
• Ensure revenue is maximised through the negotiation and implementation of lease renewals, lease restructures, rent reviews etc.
• Provide appropriate information for the maintenance of proper estate records.
• Prepare reports and briefing papers in relation to project work and to instruct legal.
• Provide professional advice to colleagues and others on property related matters.
• Work as part of a team to develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues and tenants.
• Direct management of the acquisition of sites/ land for schools, using s106 receipts
• Attendance and engagement at stakeholder meetings to prepare for upcoming work relating to new schools and expansions of school sites.
• Undertaking negotiations with developers to ensure requirements set out by project managers/education colleagues etc are met before acquisition of sites.
• Ensure all related matters relating to the acquisition of a school site are appropriately managed and instructed, including Academy conversions and/or Statutory transfers.
• Deal with enquiries around restricted covenants, overage agreements etc
• Minimising the Council’s exposure to risk and liabilities, exposure to claims from third parties in respect of land interests and ensuring that statutory deadlines are met.
• Engagement with departments within the Council to provide support and advice to enable their own statutory requirements.
• You will be qualified to MRICS standard to ensure that services are provided in a professional manner and in accordance with the standards and rules of conduct of the RICS.
• You will have extensive recent experience performing a similar role ideally with local authority experience with good professional knowledge over a range of properties.
• You will have good oral and written communication skills and report writing ability to provide clear information and advice on property matters to colleagues and the general public.
• You will have the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects to deadline.
• You will have the ability to work under direction but able to use own initiative as required.
• You will be proficient in MS Office skills (Word, Outlook, Excel etc.)
• You will hold a full UK Driving Licence.
