Job description
The Head of Software Delivery works with the development team, Product Managers, Product Owners and other key stakeholders in ensuring that our solutions are delivered. They work to a high standard and to budget. They will develop sound project plans and monitor progress. They lead the development team in ensuring the delivery of effective solutions by prioritising constantly and assessing time allocation and resources. The Head of Technical Delivery focuses on building and leading a high performing team, coaches to support individual growth and development as well as that of the team as a whole and champions a strong team of people with a culture of open communication and trust.
Key Accountabilities:
- Responsible for fostering a great culture by being a strong role model and demonstrating great people leadership. You must have a continuous improvement mindset and be constantly looking for opportunities for improvement
- LMA of development team which is distributed across diverse cultures and time zones
- Drive and own a culture of coaching and personal development
- Effectively communicate project progress, challenges, and resolutions to internal stakeholders. Conduct regular status meetings and provide updates to ensure alignment with project goals
- Accountability for end-to-end completion of key projects across the business; ensuring smooth delivery and business outcomes
- Ensure projects and deliverables are held to date and to scope and executed consistently to quality standards by allocating resources efficiently and by constantly monitoring and managing the team workload and capacity
- Co-ordinate cross team dependencies to ensure successful delivery of business goals and development on time and to specification
- Co-ordinate and oversee software releases and ensure smooth deployment and post-release support
- Identify process challenges and potential solutions
- Provide input and recommendation for continuous improvement of the delivery process
- Ensure quality control processes are followed
- Provide vital administration and logistical support to ongoing project work
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to project delivery
- Generate regular reports for internal stakeholders, highlighting project status and performance
Your skills and attributes that will make you successful in this role:
- People management experience with a passion for people development and coaching
- Experience of managing software development projects
- A confident and articulate communicator capable of inspiring strong collaboration within an organisation and between teams
- Track record of successfully delivering software development solutions using pragmatic application of Agile development methodologies
- Attention to detail and accurate
- Understanding of modelling and diagramming techniques
- Highly organised with skills to plan and prioritise tasks to meet objectives
- Highly motivated, passionate about technology, quality, and continuous improvement
- Able to share knowledge and keen to learn and explore new initiatives
- A minimum of 5 years industry experience leading software development teams

We are ahybridcompany. For us this means we come into the office when it makes sense to come in. If there is a workshop or meeting that would be better in person and where we’re focussing on collaboration, then we meet at our Stockley Park office in Uxbridge.
