Do you want to make a difference to the lives of women and children fleeing domestic abuse?

With the current challenges facing our sector, we are focused on creating financial sustainability and resilience within the organisation, focusing on a robust funding strategy and a dynamic response to risk.

We are seeking to strengthen our existing Board of Trustees through recruiting additional members. We are particularly looking to recruit trustees with an understanding of housing management and investment expertise. We are also seeking to strengthen our existing Board of Trustees through recruiting a Deputy Treasurer.

At the heart of our service is the desire to provide safe, secure, and confidential accommodation for women and their children and give them the practical and emotional support that they need to start afresh.  We have a dedicated team of specialist staff who support women and children accessing our services and advocate for them as they empower themselves to build a new life, free from fear.

What are we looking for?

What We’re Looking For:

We seek trustees with expertise in housing/property/investment management to support the expansion of our accommodation-based service offer. Specifically, we need individuals who can help us enhance our services to meet the diverse and complex needs of women experiencing gender-based domestic abuse and exploitation, as well as their children. Your insights will drive our efforts to provide safe and supportive spaces for those seeking refuge.

Strategic Thinker: You’re not just about numbers; you see the bigger picture and can help us chart a course toward our goals.

Passion for Impact: You believe in our cause and want to be part of creating lasting change.

What difference will you make?

Join our board and be part of a dynamic team committed to reducing the devastating impact of gender-based abuse and exploitation. As a trustee, you’ll play a crucial role in shaping our work, strategic direction, and achieving our purpose.

Why Us?

Purpose-Driven:

Our mission is clear, we empower and safeguard women and children facing gender-based abuse and exploitation.

Impactful Work:

By joining our board, you’ll directly contribute to positive change in our community.

Collaborative Environment:

Work alongside like-minded women who share your commitment to social justice.

“Joining Women’s Aid in Luton as a Board member has enabled me to use my professional expertise in a way that gives back to the community. I know that all the energy and time I give is helping to strengthen the organisation and ultimately the women and children it seeks to support. Joining the Board has been immensely rewarding and I highly recommend it as a valuable way to volunteer your time for a good cause.” – c urrent Board Trustee at Women’s Aid in Luton.
