Job description

Hiring a full-time permanent Electrical Design Engineer, to work for our client based in Stockton-on-Tees in their prominent, developing consultancy.

Responsibilities include:

• Developing detailed electrical system designs and completing other project documents for both LV/HV electrical equipment whilst working with other involved parties, coordinating project requirements
• Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations when selecting and specifying equipment required, and identifying potential risks to provide mitigation
• Designing all aspects of layout for electrical substations, and cable and cable containment layouts for power distribution, specifying equipment and installation methods in compliance with codes and standards
• Providing input for budgeting electrical components/systems and cost estimation
• Maintaining accurate records of design changes and revisions
• Providing full project lifecycle support using emerging technologies and innovative solutions where possible

With strong interpersonal skills, technical competence, methodical working practices and ability to problem solve under pressure, you will also:

• Hold a minimum of HNC in Electrical Engineering or similar from a relevant university
• Have expertise in AutoCAD
• Have a strong understanding and proven experience of electrical principles, design and systems and practical cable layout design experience for power distribution
• Know safety practices and have a commitment safety when designing
• Be able to identify and solve complex technical electrical designs problems
