Wellington Plant, Bury is part of Milliken’s Performance Textiles Division and is a multi-award-winning textile manufacturer supplying fabric products into Airbag systems for automotive vehicles. Shipping to over forty locations in twenty countries, we contribute to saving three thousand lives per year and prevent over thirty thousand life changing injuries. As a showcase site for our Performance Solutions Business, we regularly host visits from multinational companies as well as being a host site for events involving the Manufacturing Institute and Onsite Insights. The responsibilities of this role are (but are not limited to);
Servicing and maintaining looms with weft and beams, to locate rolls and complete minor repairs as required.
Ensuring looms have sufficient weft and leno yarn.
Repairing warp beams or cloth faults and smashes as required.
Servicing looms with full beams and moving empties to rack.
Labelling, weighing and wrapping rolls in polythene and moving the product to Treating storage. Maintaining product records.
Covering weaver’s breaks or absences as required.
Clearing empty stands, bobbins, tubes, packages to correct locations
Patrolling and ensuring good quality on all looms.
Performing any additional duties as may be required by supervision.
Skills and experience required for the role;
Hours: 4 on/4 off 6am-6pm x2 days/6pm-6am x2 nights
