Job Title: Bank Personal Assistant/Support Worker/Driver

Responsible to: Directly accountable to and taking direction from the employer and the employer’s representative.

Hours: 6 hours per week
Plus holiday and sickness cover available

Hourly Rate of Pay: £11.50 per hour

Mileage: 40p per mile

Location: Within the Employer’s own home in Perton, WV6 and surrounding areas.

Job Purpose:

Your employer will be a man living in the Perton area requiring support with and transport to a wide variety of activities as well as college during term time.

The employer requires support and prompting with his daily/morning routine which includes making breakfast, ensuring oral hygiene is completed and creams applied, ensuring appropriate clothing is worn, support with some domestic tasks including laundry and preparing lunch, support with footcare and support with journaling/diary keeping.

You will need a valid driving licence and your own vehicle so that you can provide the required assistance, which will enable him to live a full and independent life. Mileage is paid for this.

You will need to have an interest in sport/outdoor activities. The employer particularly enjoys golf, swimming, walking and racquet sports. On occasions you will be required to participate in sports with the employer however this will be at a level you feel most comfortable.

It would be beneficial if you are able to be flexible in addition to the stated working hours to support with covering annual leave and sickness. The ideal person for this role would have excellent organisational skills, be committed to the role and be a great companion.

Main Duties:

These will include assisting your employer to:

Support with daily routines including some domestic chores around the home and garden to promote the employer’s independent living

Travel to and from activities within the community and college and support to actively participate in any chosen activities

You will be required to support the employer with organising and planning his day-to-day activities. On occasions, you will be required to support the employer with admin tasks such as writing letters and sending emails.

You will be required to carry out any requests which your employer may reasonably make whether inside or outside the home.

- Have a full driving licence, business class insurance and own transport
- Flexible in the hours and times that you can work
- Good sense of humour
- Able to work effectively in emergency and difficult situations
- Be patient and supportive
- Be friendly and outgoing
- Be honest, reliable and trustworthy
- Have an understanding of privacy and confidentially
- You should have a thorough understanding of personal safety
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Have an awareness and knowledge of equal opportunities
- You must have consistency when working for the employer
- You must have a bright outlook on life
- Have a understanding of basic IT skills
- Be able to participate in all activities with the employer
- Be enthusiastic and motivated
- Willing to engage with the employer and in the activities
- Some organisational skills required

A non-smoker is preferred – this is a non-smoking home.

You will receive 5.6 weeks of holiday pay per annum.
