Job description
Axcis Education require staff with a strong SEN background to work in well resourced special school in Stockport. We have a support role for students who have profound and multiple learning difficulties.
The position will be working on a one to one basis supporting the day to day learning of the pupils and providing any other support they may require through the day. The role will include supporting the child during meal times as well as assisting with personal care where required. The role is physically demanding with a requirement to keep up with the active students who may like to run, use our adapted bikes and go in the swimming pool. The working hours are Monday-Friday, 08:30-16:00, term time only. Pay rates are from £88-90 per day. The Ofsted ‘outstanding’ school supports pupils aged 8 to 25 years with complex needs. The school offers a holistic approach and provides a safe and stimulating environment for all. The school is praised country wide for their state of the art facilities and their dedication to their students. The staff team are dedicated to ensuring each pupil is supported and given the opportunities to help them achieve their potential. The ideal candidate needs a minimum of 2 years experience working with SEN. We will accept experience from care sector, schools, personal experience and youth work. Some students may present challenging behaviour, so similar experience is advantageous but not essential as training is provided, so all candidates should be comfortable working in this type of environment. You must have a child and adult DBS registered on the update service as well as an overseas police check if you have been overseas for more than 6 months within the last 5 years. We also require references to cover a minimum of the last 2 years.
