Salary: Grade: Band 6, Spine point: 25-30. £37,758.57 to £44,579.61 per annum (FTE £39,181 to £46,259 per annum inclusive of High Cost Area Supplement for Outer London)  For an exceptional candidate an additional recruitment and retention allowance may apply.

Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday – Friday, Term Time plus 2 weeks (Part-time, flexible working and/or Job share will be considered)

Addington Valley Academy are seeking to recruit an Occupational Therapist Specialist to work as part of our dynamic multi-disciplinary team (including SALTs, ASD leads, Canine and Music Therapists) to support our learners in accessing all aspects of the curriculum, as well as liaising with parents/carers and other external professionals and agencies. You will work closely with teaching staff, helping to integrate therapy and learning objectives, as well as instructing and supporting teaching staff in delivering therapy programmes and use of specialised equipment. You will also deliver training to other staff.

Addington Valley Academy is special Free School in Croydon for children and young people with autism and learning difficulties. The school opened in 2020 and provides 150 places for children and young people aged 2-19 who have autism and social communication, cognitive, sensory and social, emotional, and behavioural needs.

The new purpose designed school is equipped to meet the needs of students and includes sensory gardens, indoor sensory rooms, soft-play area, and a large cookery room along with other facilities to encourage students to learn skills to live independently. Students access specialist support enabling them to learn and achieve in a nurturing and aspirational environment.
