Position: Quantity Surveyor
Location: West Sussex
Hours: Full-time
Role Overview: Manpower is proud to partner with a leading construction company in West Sussex in the search for a talented Quantity Surveyor. In this pivotal role, you will provide quantity surveying expertise at project level, serving as a crucial link between operations and the management team. You'll have the opportunity to work on small to intermediate works groups and contribute to advancing the commercial function across the business.
Responsibilities:
- Administer NEC3 contracts, including Options A and C, as well as PSC.
- Maintain accurate contract project documentation.
- Prepare and issue Early Warning Notices (EWNs) and Compensation Events (CEs) to the supply chain and clients.
- Attend and actively participate in weekly and monthly commercial meetings at a project level.
- Monitor and manage change control processes.
- Collaborate with programmers at a project level.
- Engage in pre, during, and post-contract liaison with clients and the supply chain.
- Conduct supply chain negotiation and let packages of work.
- Manage and value variations/CEs.
- Prepare and submit monthly valuations and final accounts.
- Prepare and submit project tenders, including follow-up activities.
- Develop and nurture relationships with client representatives and the supply chain.
- Perform any other duties relevant to the role.
Key Competencies:
- Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, with 3-5 years' experience in an NEC contract environment.
- Solid understanding of both Pre-Contract and Post-Contract work.
- Proficient working knowledge of NEC 3 main and subcontract contract forms (essential).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced skills in Excel, including charts, pivots, lookups, and sheet automation.
