Job description
The Clinical/ Forensic/ Counselling Psychologist will: Lead the implementation of service improvements and integration of therapeutic approach in conjunction with the Lead Consultant Psychologist and Director of Psychological Therapies. Ensure that the psychological team provide a service that is responsive to patient and referrers needs and in the line with key charity priorities and trauma-informed care. Lead operational day to day management for the psychology team on the long term rehabilitation ward. Provide clinical leadership, work as an autonomous practitioner to provide specialist therapy assessments, diagnose and develop individualised treatment programs based on patients needs, using advanced clinical reasoning skills and to develop own area of clinical practice within a specialty area (DBT and/or EMDR). Be responsible for delivering high quality trauma therapy to patients. Support the Lead Consultant Psychologist in their duties and to deputise in their absence. Ensure efficient and effective service delivery within a fast and pressurised environment. Work collaboratively with the management team to promote an integrated equitable trauma-informed service whilst utilising prioritisation and time management skills to meet the unpredictable and conflicting needs of the service. Facilitate and undertake Service Evaluation and research within the specialty adhering to Trust and Research Policy.
