Children's Home Deputy Manager

£33,000 - £37,000 per annum

We are looking for an experienced Deputy Manager to run a Children's home in Harlow. You must have a Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Children and Young People's Workforce with experience of managing staff in a stable home.

Our Client

Our client is a family-run company who have provided specialist social care services nationwide for over 10 years. They provide individual intervention packages for children and their families, helping families with complex issues and challenges, such as learning difficulties, mental health problems, drug and alcohol abuse, and violence in the home or where a child is at risk of entering the care system.

The Role

They are looking for a Deputy Manager to help run a 4 bedded home with children ranging from 7 to 18 years with emotionally challenging behaviours.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the home in the absence of the homes manager, be responsible for a team of staff and work allocations, as well as undertaking direct work with children.

This is a varied role and on a day to basis you could be:

• Coaching and supporting staff members
• Ensuring care delivery is in line with the homes policies and procedures
• Lead and support Safeguarding investigations
• Manage the homes rota
• Lead and support with staff recruitment, selection and retention of staff
• Maintain the homes financial budget
• Work with and care for the children in the home

As an experienced Deputy Manager it is essential you meet the below criteria:

• NVQ Level 4 in Children and Young People in Residential Care
• A full UK Driving License
• Minimum 2 years working at Senior level, in an EBD Residential Children's Home
• A good stable work history
• Up to date working knowledge of Ofsted regulations
• Experience in supervising staff
• Strong people management skills
• Strong behaviour management skills
• Experience in updating care plans
• Excellent organisational skills
