Job description
Adecco are currently recruiting for a Senior Industrial Engineer for a large electrical manufacturing company. This position will be based at their Scarborough site.
Mission:
Design, develop and Industrialisation of manufacturing assembly & Warehouse processes.
Responsibilities:
- Develop assembly process line architecture with LADM (Line architecture Design Methodology) & Lean manufacturing approach.
- Prepare the detailed equipment technical specifications of new line architectures and industrial scenarios in order to meet Safety/Quality/Lead Times and productivity requirements.
- Select and assess suppliers together with purchase department.
- Drives realisation of equipment and ensure successful installation, qualification and handover to operational team.
- Manufacturing Capacity analysis based on the sales growth/forecast quantity & execute capacity enhancement actions wherever required.
- Experience in Plant and Line Layout, Cycle Time Study, Line Balancing, TAKT Time, KANBAN, VSM, Changeover minimisation and LEAN Manufacturing
- Modify mechanical elements, fixtures & mounting arrangements on the equipment's to meet/improve ergonomic/safety/quality requirement.
- Optimise Lead Times and assure capacity of the lines, write operator work instructions for training & contribute to the development of new products (producible, feasible)
- Experience in warehouse design and introduction of innovative material handling processes between warehouse to shopfloor for improving efficiency and workplace ergonomics.
- Knowledge in development of SPM (Special purpose machine) and test equipment is added advantage.
Requirements:
- Engineering Graduate in Industrial/Mechatronics/EEE/ECE/Mechanical with 8 to 12 years working experience in Methods/Industrial/Manufacturing engineering /Process development experience.
- Six-sigma & Lean manufacturing certificate is added advantage
Language requirements.
- Fluent verbal & written English language.
- 8 to 12 years working experience in Methods/Industrial/Manufacturing engineering /Process development experience and applied understanding of current manufacturing techniques i.e. SPS, Capacity analysis, Relay-out, Lean Line architecture technology, Kanban, Warehouse design, 6 Sigma and industrialisation.
Attributes or Skills requirements:
- Good knowledge in understanding the Factory shopfloor layout of assembly lines & to make the improvements in the layout for lean flow process.
- Skill in estimating the shopfloor surface area required for the new assembly lines.
- Good knowledge in ergonomic and safety standards.
Knowledge in Material providing and handling/Material handling equipment's and warehouse design.
- The ability to work as a team member and possess good interpersonal, communication and literacy skills
- To work with efficiency, accuracy and to be able to meet deadlines
