Job description
Institut International de Lancy, a private international school, welcomes more than 1400 pupils of multiple nationalities, from nursery school through secondary education. We prepare students for major certifications, including the Brevet des Collèges, the French Baccalaureate, IGCSE, International Baccalaureate (IB). In this multicultural environment, IIL offers quality teaching, adapted to the 21st century. The English Secondary Section is looking to recruit an experienced, dynamic and motivated university guidance counselor.
Main activities
• Supervise the preparation of student admission files;
• Organize student orientation events;
• Coordinate the student orientation program from the start of secondary school;
• Evaluate the relevance and maturity of vocational choices using tools (tests,
questionnaires, etc.) and draw up a report;
• Propose or set up, if necessary, assistance and support measures to help in the
decision-making process;
• Create and maintain a network with universities and schools in Switzerland and
abroad.
Required Qualifications
• Minimum of a Bachelor degree;
• Experience with university guidance in an international setting: focusing on career
exploration and preparation for post-secondary education;
• Extensive knowledge of the UK, North American, Dutch and Swiss university
systems, and good knowledge of universities around the world;
• A native level English speaker.
Preferred Skills
• Knowledge of the IGCSE and IB programmes:
• Teaching experience;
• A working knowledge of French;
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
• Ability and willingness to work in a team.
