Job description
All qualified screeners will be expected to engage in annual screener competency assessment, educational programmes and training alongside continuous professional development opportunities in accordance with local and national recommendations. All qualified screeners will be expected to accurately follow the screening pathways for well babies and NICU babies. Accurately identify and refer those babies requiring targeted follow-up or diagnostic assessment. Monitor new-borns state of arousal during screen and ensure environmental and equipment factors are appropriate throughout the screening process. Use test equipment to check probe tip placement to promote optimal recording conditions. Use appropriate skin preparation materials and technique prior to sensor placement. Insert probe tip safely and securely into ear canal without causing distress to baby or parents. Please see Job Description and Person Specification attached.
