P+S Personnel are pleased to be working on behalf of our clients, who are currently seeking a Project Engineer to join their team based in Great Yarmouth on a full-time, permanent basis.
Role Summary:
- To lead projects from a technical point, working alongside other departments translating customer requirements into internal design requirements; to interface with the workshop to assure compliance with design and inspect work.
- To review design for project work.
- To coordinate and perform testing activities.
- To perform complex commissioning jobs at customer site.
- To develop technical documentation including, but not limited to, FAT and Commissioning Procedures, IOM manuals.
Main Responsibilities:
- Translating client requirements into practical terms that can be implemented by the Team.
- Interface with the Project Manager and Project Team to ensure project compliance with the company and where applicable, customer specifications.
- Responsible for the reviewing of technical drawings and documents before issuing to customers or being released to the workshop.
- Responsible for the creation of project related testing procedures and manuals.
- Verification of bills of materials in line with project requirements.
- Assist in the research and identification of component purchasing and build and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers, solving technical issues with them should they arise.
- Internal inspection and testing of project related systems and equipment.
- Work as part of a team to carry out Factory Acceptance Tests with customer representatives/inspectors.
- Where complexity exists, perform site commissioning when required.
- Ensure that technical specifications required for product manufacture are maintained and regularly reviewed.
- Ensure that British Standard and Industry Standard publications related to product manufacture are met, maintained and regularly reviewed.
- Monitor the Tech Support email account and liaise with customers to resolve any technical related issues or queries.
- Fulfil all job responsibilities in accordance with organisational procedures.
- The role is expected to involve periodical overtime working to cope with increased workloads during busy periods. Whilst this is usually kept to a minimum it may involve some weekday and/or weekend overtime
Skills and Experience
- HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering or similar engineering field.
- Experience in a project driven environment.
- Experience as test engineer or similar role.
- Experience with electrical testing and producing technical documents.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with coworkers and on project teams.
- Excellent IT skills, particularly in MS Office Package.
- A pro-active approach to role tasks.
- An ability to take a logical approach to role tasks.
- Experience of PLC systems (Desirable)
- Experience with HMI systems and IoT (Desirable)
- Experience of cable and protection equipment sizing (Desirable)
- Experience with power distribution systems (Desirable)
- Knowledge of Hazardous Area requirements (Desirable)
- Experience of working to national and international quality engineering standards (Desirable)
